Postcards I have received from 2013 to 2018 primarily through Postcrossing and Swap-bot although there are some postcards here that are from other sources.

Krefeld: city of silk and velvet, North Rhine-Westphalia,Germany
Krefeld: city of silk and
velvet is the centre of Germany's textile trade. It is three towns in one:
neo-classical Krefeld, baroque Uerdingen and the small medieval castle town of
Linn. Though the different influences are still easily identifiable, these
places have grown together over time to form one city. This is a typical tourist
postcard showing multi-views of the various attractions of Krefeld.I can identify only three of the scenes shown
on this postcard. Right at the bottom, the
magnificent building is the Rathaus (City Hall) which obviously must be in the
centre of Krefeld. On the top right hand
corner is Burg Linn (Linn Castle) which is a moated castle. It is located about five kilometres east of
downtown.Surprisingly the Hunting Lodge
which was added in 1930 is featured more prominently on this postcard.Just below this is Krefeld Port. The access to the port, a view from the north
is shown.Actually to call it a port is
a bit of an exaggeration as it is really a small three-dock structure serving a
branch canal of the Rhine River.
I received this postcard from Torsten Berner in February 2014.
