Coat of arms of Latvia

This wonderful postcard came from Madara Eglīte of Riga (Mar04-2014).  It shows the small enhanced version of the Coat of Arms of Latvia.  There are three representations of the Coat of Arms of Latvia:
(1) The large version has a heraldic red lion on the left and a legendary winged silver creature with an eagle's head, a griffin, on the right.
(2) The small enhanced version (see postcard)
(3) The small version similar to (2) above except that the oak branches (a symbol of Latvia) are omitted.

The Latvian national Coat of Arms was formed after the proclamation of an independent Republic of Latvia on November 18, 1918.

The stamps on this postcard are also very interesting.  Thanks Madara.
