Wisconsin "America's Dairyland"

Wisconsin is a U.S. state located in the north-central United States. It is the 23rd state by total area and the 20th most populous. Wisconsin became the 30th state of the USA in 1848. The state capital is Madison, and its largest city is Milwaukee, which is located on the western shore of Lake Michigan.  Wisconsin is second to Michigan in the length of its Great Lakes coastline.

Wisconsin is known as "America's Dairyland" because it is one of the nation's leading dairy producers, particularly famous for cheese. Manufacturing and tourism are also major contributors to the state's economy.

The United States Census Bureau estimates that the population of Wisconsin was 5.7 million on July 1, 2013.

This postcard from Dorcas Qian (28 April 2014) Direct Swap Postcrossing shows the State Capitol building, Swiss dairy cows, an Autumn farm harvest, coastal wetland waters of Lake Michigan, sailing on Lake Mendota and running the American Birkebeiner (a cross-country ski race).
