SW CW-234 Inge Löök card - receiving mail is always a pleasure

This postcard shows the two happy grannies receiving mail.

In this modern age when emails, SMSs and other electronic messages are widely utilised for communication, the number of physical mail items delivered by postal authorities is decreasing in almost every country annually. But a lot of people still enjoy opening their letterboxes and finding letters and postcards addressed to them.

Postcrossing is a case in point.  It is a free site that enables people to send postcards. Its slogan is "Send a postcard and receive a postcard back from a random person somewhere in the world!" It is a phenomenal success. As of August 10 2014, Postcrossing had over 489,000 members in 212 different countries who had registered and exchanged over 25 million postcards that have travelled over 127 billion kilometres.

So there are many people, like the old grannies in this postcard who do enjoy receiving mail.

This postcard came from liveve308 (22 September 2014) Swap-bot.
