The island is mostly mountainous (70%) with a mountain range in the west of the island from the north to the south. The island's length, from north to south, is 48 kilometres (30 mi) and its width is 21 kilometres (13 mi). The island is connected to mainland Thailand by two bridges. It is situated off the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea.
