CA-471526 Whistler - a very popular resort town

Whistler is a very popular Canadian resort town. It has a permanent population of about 10,000 but a very large transient population of workers, typically younger people.  Over two million people visit Whistler annually, primarily for alpine skiing and snowboarding and, in summer, mountain biking.

Whistler is located in the southern Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains in the province of British Columbia.  It is approximately 125 km (78 mi) north of Vancouver.

Whistler was the Host Mountain Resort of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympic Games.
