FI-2464572 Saariselkä in the far north of Finland

Saariselkä is a village located in a mountainous area in northern Finland. It is located in Northern Lapland and belongs to the Inari municipality. Saariselkä is a popular tourist destination, providing activities such as skiing, hiking and a spa.  But it is not only Saariselkä village that is popular with tourists, the entire region of Inari-Saariselkä with its unique northern countryside, national parks, lake areas, rivers, highland bring in a lot of tourists.

A website promoting the region states that this area “ offers a wealth of opportunities for year-round travel. In winter, the Northern Lights dance across the sky up to 200 days a year. In summer, the midnight sun shines for two whole months in our region. The legendary Saariselkä is the northernmost travel destination in the European Union and boasts a variety of services. In Inari and other villages in the area, the Sami culture is still very much in evidence in everyday life. Here is where you find the genuine Lapland.”
