JP-459112 Enoden and Mount Fuji, Japan

The Enoshima Electric Railway or Enoden (江ノ島電鉄 Enoshima dentetsu) connects Kamakura Station in Kamakura, with Fujisawa Station in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.

The train line measures 10 kilometers in length with a gauge of 1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in). It connects fifteen stations with a single track; five of those stations can accommodate two trains to allow bidirectional traffic. The trains operate on 600 V DC electric supply from overhead lines. The segment from Kamakura Station to Koshigoe Station is in the city of Kamakura; from Enoshima Station to Fujisawa Station, the line is in the city of Fujisawa.

Mount Fuji (富士山 Fujisan) the highest mountain in Japan, can be seen in the background of this postcard. Mount Fuji has an exceptionally symmetrical cone and is a well-known symbol of Japan.
