This
new 35,000 sq m complex cost about (US)$5 million to build. Parts of the
building according to the Rabbi, are made from Jerusalem stone that was
specially shipped to Novosibirsk.
Novosibirsk
is located in Siberia and is the third most populous city in Russia after
Moscow and St. Petersburg and the most populous city in Asian Russia, with a
population of more than 1.5 million. Of
this, 20,000 are of Jewish descent and about 6,000 are registered members of the
Jewish community.
