DE-3844884 Friedrichsort Lighthouse, Kiel Fjord, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

Friedrichsort Lighthouse is an active lighthouse.  The construction of this lighthouse lasted from February 1969 to October 1971. The 31.75 m high building is a round white concrete tower with green / white bands. The foundation of the tower rests on 12 to 36 m long piles and it is on a 1,500m² sand island.

The optics of Friedrichsort Lighthouse dates from the year 1937 (1936). The focal length of the optics is 250 mm and a 400 W metal halide lamp generates an approximately 28,000 cd strong direction light.

Friedrichsort Lighthouse still offer shipping on Kiel Fjord reliable information for navigation. The lighthouse is remotely controlled and monitored and equipped with redundant systems.
