CZ-932229 Locomotive 423.009 of the Czech Republic
This steam locomotive numbered 423.009 (991.004-3) was produced in 1922. The locomotive has a wheel arrangement 1'D1' and it produces approximately 550 kW of power. Number 423.009 has a steam boiler with a pressure of 12 bar.
This locomotive is representative of the locomotives used for local routes in the livery of the CSD.. They worked mostly in southwest Bohemia.
CSD ended its commercial life in August 4, 1970. This locomotive together with 423,094 were discarded.
In the early 80s, these two locomotives were recovered and restored by entusiasts and these days are run for nostalgic reasons.
See: https://flynnfrogg.blogspot.sg/2016/03/cz-835550-steam-locomotive-of-jhmd.html for another historic Czech locomotive.
This postcard came from Petz (15 July 2016) Postcrossing.
